Mary Anne Landis (Ukiah) – came to this community to teach. She taught for many years as part of the Mendocino County Office of Education after which she founded and directed a charter school. Then she designed and built a small infill housing project on the west side of Ukiah which piqued her interest in planning and development issues. Her subsequent work as Ukiah Planning Commissioner lead her to serving as a Ukiah City council member for the past 5 years -one of those years as mayor. Mary Anne retains a strong commitment to focusing on shared community values, so we can ‘grow’ this beautiful place on the planet – without wrecking it. She thoroughly enjoys being part of the changes which result in the creation of a more liveable, walkable, bikeable – and prosperous community.
